How it works
Anyone can launch on Cast. What happens after that is up to the community. Here is every rule, in plain words.
Launching
Anyone with a wallet and an X account can launch. Pick a name, ticker and image, add an optional first buy, and the coin goes live on a bonding curve. Nobody reviews it first. Every trade pays a a small fee shared by the creator, Cast and Meteora. Creators can claim their fees any time, even after a ban.
Coins trade on Meteora's bonding curve, so they show up on Axiom, GMGN and other terminals from the first trade. When the curve fills, the coin graduates to a Meteora pool and all of its liquidity is locked forever.
Builder tools
Serious builders can prove it on-chain, from the coin page. Every one of these is enforced on-chain, not by us.
- Buyback & burn. The creator buys their own coin on the curve and burns every token bought, in one transaction. Pay from your wallet or straight from unclaimed creator fees. The normal trading fee applies.
- Lock supply. Lock tokens for 7 days to 4 years in a Jupiter Lock escrow. A time lock releases everything on the end date; vesting releases a little every hour. There is no early exit for anyone. You can lock your first buy as part of launching.
- Anti-snipe fee. Buys that land in the same block as the launch (block-zero snipes) pay a 90% trading fee instead of the normal one. From the next block on, under a second later, the normal fee applies, so fast buyers aren't punished. The creator's own first buy in the launch transaction pays the normal fee.
- Burn. Destroy tokens from your wallet at any time, before or after graduation.
Burned and locked supply is shown on every coin, so buyers can check a creator's commitment before they trade.
Creator votes
Any eligible voter can start a vote on a creator from their coin or creator page. A reason and evidence links are optional, and the opener's X handle is shown. Only one vote per creator can be open at a time, and if a vote doesn't pass, a new one can't start for 7 days.
Voting
- A vote stays open for 1 hour.
- It only counts if at least 50 people vote.
- If it counts, the creator is banned when 60% or more of the vote weight says ban.
- Every vote is public: X handle, weight and choice. Ballots can't be changed.
- Voters need an X account at least 180 days old, one X account per voter.
Vote weight
Everyone starts at a weight of 1. People who have paid more trading fees on Cast in the last 90 days count for more, up to 3. An active trader's vote can count as much as three new voters, but no single voter can decide the outcome.
What a ban does
A banned creator can't launch on Cast again: not with their X account, not with any wallet they ever linked, and not with new wallets funded by those wallets. Launches need Cast's co-signature, so this holds on-chain too.
Their existing coins keep trading with a “From banned creator” label, and they keep their creator fees.
Appeals
Every banned creator gets one appeal, 7 days after the ban. It opens a new public vote that needs 2x the usual voters. The ban stays only if 60% or more vote to keep it. If not enough people vote, the ban is lifted. A failed appeal makes the ban permanent.
Questions
Something missing? The terms cover removals that skip the vote (illegal content, scams, impersonation).
What is Cast?
A Solana launchpad where anyone can launch and the community keeps things honest. If a creator launches something holders would rather not see again, they can vote to ban that creator from launching here. Existing coins keep trading; the creator just doesn't get another one.
Who can start a vote?
Anyone with a linked X account (at least 180 days old) and a wallet. Open the creator's coin or profile and press "Start a creator vote". Adding a reason and evidence is optional, and your handle is shown as the person who opened it.
How does voting work?
A vote stays open for one hour. It only counts if at least 50 people vote. If it counts, the creator is banned when 60% or more of the vote weight says ban. Every ballot is public, and there are no take-backs.
How is vote weight calculated?
Everyone starts at a weight of 1. People who have paid more trading fees on Cast in the last 90 days count for more, up to a maximum of 3. Weight can't be bought any other way.
What happens to coins from a banned creator?
They keep trading on their curve with a "From banned creator" label, so holders are never stuck. The creator still earns their fee on those coins. A ban stops future launches; it doesn't take anything away.
Can a banned creator appeal?
Yes, once. An appeal opens a new public vote with twice the usual quorum. If not enough people vote, the ban is lifted. If the appeal fails, the ban is permanent.
What are the fees?
Every trade on the curve pays 1.25%: 0.4% to the coin's creator, 0.6% to Cast and 0.25% to Meteora, whose bonding curve the coins run on. Creators claim their share any time, or spend it on a buyback & burn in one click.
What stops snipers?
Buys that land in the same block as the launch pay a 90% fee instead of the normal one. From the next block, under a second later, the normal fee applies. The creator's first buy, made in the launch transaction, pays the normal fee.
How can I check a creator's tokens are locked?
Check the Tokenomics panel on the coin. Creators can lock tokens in a Jupiter Lock escrow for 7 days to 4 years, as a time lock or vesting, and nobody can withdraw early or cancel it. Locked and burned supply is shown on every coin.
Will my coin show up on Axiom and GMGN?
Yes. Cast coins run on Meteora's bonding curve, which the big terminals already support, so they appear and trade there from the first block.
Can a banned creator just use a new wallet?
Nice try. Bans cover their X account, every wallet they ever linked, and new wallets funded by those wallets. Every launch needs Cast's approval on-chain, so a blocked wallet can't launch through the site or around it.
